| Much of the children's learning will be through
play where children are offered a range of activities each with
an underlying educational purpose. Play is the means by which humans
explore a variety of experiences in different situations for a variety
of purposes. It is a process which provides for children a way of
learning about the world around them.
The children listen to stories, sing songs, make music, explore
sand and water, go on trips and visits, prepare and eat snacks,
make and use playdough, do art and craft activities, play games,
complete jigsaws, use the computer, act out roles in the home
corner, use construction sets, run, climb and balance - and many
more activities.
Staff plan activities and experiences that promote children's
development and learning based on 'A Curriculum Framework for
children 3-5' in the following key aspects:
| • |
Emotional, personal and social development. |
| • |
Communication and language . |
| • |
Knowledge and understanding of the world . |
| • |
Expressive and aesthetic development . |
| • |
Physical development and movement. |
